01 / WHERE WE FIT

Programming is where AV projects stall.

The hardware arrives, the racks are built, and the project sits waiting on code. These are the situations we are called into most often — whether you are an integrator juggling commitments or an organisation trying to get its own rooms working.

The programming resource is already committed

Two projects land in the same fortnight and one of them will slip. We take the second one, work to your standards and hand it back fully documented.

The specification lands on an unfamiliar platform

The design calls for Q-SYS, Aurora or Vocia and the in-house team runs Crestron. We cover the platform rather than the project being turned down or a certification being bought for a single job.

Someone else's code has been inherited

An undocumented programme, no source files and a client asking for changes. We audit what is actually there, give an honest view on whether it is worth keeping, and rebuild where it is not.

The estate has grown without a standard

Twenty rooms, six different interfaces and no two behaving the same way. We define a room standard, build it once and roll it across the estate.

We are engaged directly by organisations that own their estate, and as the programming team behind other integrators. The engineering is the same. What changes is who holds the relationship, and we are explicit about that from the first conversation.

You engage us as your programming and commissioning partner. We scope the work, write the code, commission the rooms and support them afterwards — working alongside your own team or as a standalone resource.

Both routes exist in the same business, and we think you should know that before you send us a drawing rather than find out afterwards. Where we are introduced to an end client by a partner, that client belongs to the partner. It is written into the engagement, not left as a matter of goodwill.

04 / SCOPE OF WORKS

What a programming engagement includes.

These are the five line items every programming engagement is built from. Take all five or any one of them — you will always be able to see which part of the cost belongs to which piece of work.

All of our projects are priced on a per-project basis. The breakdown below is for reference, so you can see exactly what each engagement covers before we scope yours.

Programming, GUI

Touch panel and browser interface design and build. Page structure, control bindings, iconography and behaviour, produced to a house standard or to the end client's brand where one is specified.

Programming, back-end

The control code itself. Device drivers, routing logic, scheduling, occupancy behaviour, conferencing integration, error handling and the interlocks that keep a room recoverable when something on it fails.

DSP programming

Audio configuration and tuning. Signal path, gain structure, echo cancellation, beamtracking, mix-minus, paging zones and the measurement work needed to confirm the room performs as designed.

Onsite programming and commissioning

Load, test and hand over on site. Device verification, signal path checks, functional testing against the agreed specification, snag resolution and demonstration.

Remote support

Post-handover changes, fault diagnosis and code amendments carried out remotely, either against a retained block of hours or as called upon.

Scope is agreed before a number is issued, so the quotation reflects the work in front of us rather than a guess with contingency built into it. Every project is quoted individually — contact us and we will scope yours.

How the work runs.

The same sequence on every project, in every territory, so you know what you are receiving and when.

01Scope review

We read the drawings, equipment schedule and functional intent before quoting. Where the design has gaps we say so at this stage, not halfway through development.

02Room Behaviour Specification

A written description of exactly what each space will do, page by page and function by function. You sign it off. It then becomes the test script at commissioning.

03Development

Code and interface built against the signed specification, with progress reported against your project programme.

04Bench testing

Logic validated and simulated before it reaches site, so the first day of commissioning is spent proving the room rather than debugging the programme.

05Onsite commissioning

Loaded, tested against the specification and demonstrated. Snags recorded and closed out in your format.

06Handover

Commented source code, as-built documentation and configuration files delivered to you. They are yours, not ours.

Three territories, one delivery model.

Development, interface build and most DSP configuration happen remotely. Site attendance is scoped separately, so a project only carries travel for the days that genuinely need an engineer in the room.

United Kingdom, onsite and remote

Full commissioning coverage nationwide from our Hampshire base, including multi-site estate rollouts.

Europe, remote-led

Programming and configuration delivered remotely, with onsite commissioning scheduled where the project requires it.

United States, remote-led

Development and support run to US project hours, with commissioning attendance arranged against the project programme.

Independent, and specific about what that means.

Independence is a word most programming firms use. These are the parts of it you can actually hold us to.

Six platforms, not one

A firm certified on a single platform will always find a reason for that platform. We work across six, so the answer to what a project should run on is genuinely open.

You own the code

Commented source files and configuration are handed over on completion. There is no retained-code arrangement and no charge for release. Another programmer can pick it up tomorrow.

One named engineer

You deal with the person writing the code, not an account manager relaying questions. Technical queries get technical answers, and the person on the phone is the one at the keyboard.

Scope before price

We do not issue a number until the work is defined. It means a slower first response and a quotation that survives contact with the project.

Channel conduct in writing

Where a partner introduces us to an end client, that client is theirs. It sits in the engagement terms rather than resting on goodwill.

Delivery across three territories

Common questions.

Do you work direct, or only through integrators?

Both. We are engaged directly by organisations that own their AV estate, and we work as the programming team behind other integrators. Where a partner introduces us to an end client, that client remains the partner's and it is written into the engagement.

Can you take on a project that has already started?

Yes. We regularly pick up part-written programmes and stalled commissioning. We audit the existing code first and give an honest view on whether continuing it or rebuilding it is the cheaper route.

Do we get the source code?

Yes, on every project, commented and with as-built documentation. There is no retained-code arrangement and no charge for release. The code is passed over in full once the project is paid for in full.

How much of the work can be done remotely?

Development, interface build and most DSP configuration are done remotely. Site attendance is scoped separately for commissioning, tuning and handover, so a project only pays for the days that need an engineer in the room.

Do you work outside the UK?

Yes. We deliver projects across the UK, Europe and the United States. Development and support are remote-led in all three territories, with onsite commissioning scheduled against the project programme.

How is programming quoted?

Can you work to our documentation and reporting standards?

Yes. When we work through your business we adopt your templates, your RAMS process and your reporting format. When we work direct we apply our own house standards, which we are happy to share before you engage us.
